Return and Refund Policy

This Refund & Return Policy applies to all products, services, donations, digital goods, programs, kits, and resources offered by Younger Legacy Academy (“YLA”).

YLA reserves the right to update this policy at any time without prior notice.

1. Donation-Based Items — No Refunds, No Returns

Many items distributed by YLA are provided through a donation-based model.

Because donations are voluntary contributions supporting nonprofit operations:

All donations are final and non-refundable.

Donation-based items cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded for any reason.

This includes:

  • DNA kits
  • Wellness kits
  • Herbal kits
  • Food boxes or care packages
  • Educational materials
  • Technology kits
  • Program-related materials
  • Any item given in exchange for a contribution

2. Digital Products — No Refunds, No Exceptions

All digital goods are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded.

This includes:

  • E-books
  • Guides
  • Digital training materials
  • PDF downloads
  • Online classes
  • Access codes
  • Research participation materials

Digital access begins immediately upon purchase or donation, making refunds impossible.

3. Physical Items — Strict Return Conditions

Physical items purchased (not donation-based) may be eligible for return ONLY IF:

  1. The product arrived damaged or defective
  2. The customer reports the issue within 48 hours of delivery
  3. The item is unused and in original packaging
  4. The customer provides clear photo evidence
  5. YLA approves the return in writing

If ANY of the above conditions are not met, the return is automatically denied.

Non-eligible items include:

  • Used items
  • Opened items
  • Personalized or customized items
  • Health, wellness, or hygiene items
  • Lab kits or DNA kits
  • Educational kits
  • Items damaged by customer
  • Items lost or delayed by the shipping carrier

No exceptions will be made.

4. Shipping & Handling Fees — Non-Refundable

Shipping fees, handling fees, processing fees, and delivery charges are:

100 percent non-refundable.

YLA is not responsible for:

  • Shipping delays
  • Lost packages
  • Carrier errors
  • Weather-related delays
  • Incorrect addresses provided by the customer

All claims must be directed to the shipping carrier.

5. Exchanges

Exchanges are only permitted if:

  • YLA approves the defective or damaged item return
  • The replacement item is available
  • The customer returns the original item following all conditions

If exchange inventory is unavailable, YLA may offer store credit at its discretion.

Store credit is non-refundable and expires after 12 months.

6. DNA Kits, Research Kits & Science Materials

Due to safety, compliance, and chain-of-custody protocols:

**DNA kits, ancestry kits, lab kits, and research materials

cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstance.**

This is for:

  • Safety
  • Compliance
  • Bio-handling laws
  • Research integrity
  • Protection of lab resources

If a kit is damaged during shipping, YLA may choose to replace it one time only.

7. Program Fees & Class Registrations

For paid classes, workshops, or programs:

  • All fees are final once registration is submitted
  • No refunds for missed sessions
  • No refunds due to scheduling conflicts
  • No refunds for participant dissatisfaction
  • No refunds for partial attendance
  • No refunds if a participant is removed for conduct violations

YLA may reschedule a class due to emergencies. If rescheduled, no refunds will be issued.

8. Wrong or Incomplete Address

If a package is returned to YLA due to an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address:

  • Customer must pay a new shipping fee
  • No refunds will be issued
  • No replacements will be issued until new shipping charges are received

9. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Filing false chargebacks, disputes, or refund claims will result in:

  • Immediate removal from all YLA programs
  • Permanent ban
  • Reporting to payment processors
  • Possible legal action for fraud

YLA maintains detailed order records to contest fraudulent claims.

10. Processing Time

Approved refunds (rare cases only) may take up to 14 business days to process.

Store credit (if applicable) may take up to 7 business days.

11. Final Authority

YLA reserves full discretion to:

  • Approve or deny any return
  • Determine whether an item qualifies for replacement
  • Refuse refunds for misuse or policy violations

All decisions are final.

YLA Universal Giveaway Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all giveaways, programs, and assistance distributed by The Younger Legacy Academy, including but not limited to gift cards, toys, food boxes, holiday support, and community resources. By submitting the registration form, you agree to the guidelines below:

1. No Purchase Necessary

All giveaways provided by The Younger Legacy Academy (YLA) are free.

No purchase, donation, or payment is required to participate.

2. Eligibility

Participants must:

  • Be 18 years or older to enter on behalf of a household.
  • Provide accurate information on the registration form.
  • Live within the areas served by YLA programs.
    YLA reserves the right to deny or remove entries that contain false information.

3. One Entry Per Household

For fairness, only one entry per household is allowed unless stated otherwise.

4. Random Selection

Winners are selected at random unless the program specifically states a different process.

Submitting a form does not guarantee selection.

5. Verification

YLA may request confirmation of:

6. No Cash Value

Gift cards, toys, food items, and any support provided cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
