2. Information we collect
Creating a free member account, open to visitors 13 years of age or older, provides your name and email address, and the site records the lessons you mark complete so your progress is saved. When you email us, request program updates, or complete a volunteer, assistance, or registration form, we receive the information you choose to provide on that form. Embedded forms are provided through Jotform, which processes form submissions for the Academy. Donations are processed through Zeffy, which collects donation payment information under its own privacy policy.
We collect only the information a request, an order, or an application needs. Please send us only the information we ask for.
3. How we use information
We use information you provide to respond to inquiries, review requests and registrations, send program updates you requested, process donations, and communicate about Academy programs, volunteering, partnerships, or donations. We do not sell your personal information.
Every marketing or program update email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and one click removes your address from that list. Service, order, donation, and application messages continue where they are needed to complete the work you requested.
4. Who processes information for us
Our form provider is Jotform and our donation provider is Zeffy. Our website hosting provider serves this site, and our email provider carries Academy messages. We never sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers needed to complete your order, application, donation, or request, and where the law requires sharing.
5. How long we keep information
We keep order, donation, and business records for as long as our accounting, tax, and legal records require. Messages and applications are kept while they are active and for a reasonable period after, and are deleted on request as described below unless a record must be kept by law.
6. Your choices and data deletion
You may ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email jyounger@goyfa.org with the name and email connected to your information so we can find it. We respond within 30 days. Where a record must be kept for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal reasons, we keep only that record and explain why.
7. Privacy for our boys and girls
This website does not knowingly collect personal information from boys and girls under age 13 without consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a young family member under 13 provided personal information without that consent, contact jyounger@goyfa.org. A parent or guardian may ask to review or remove that information.
8. Security
Our website is served over a secure connection. Payment information is handled by our payment providers and never reaches our own systems in full. No system is perfect, and we work to limit access to personal information to the people who need it for the work above.
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
